Chief Development Officer (Full Time)
This position serves as part of the senior management team, providing strategic leadership to the organization. In partnership with the Executive Director, the Chief Development Officer is responsible for all fundraising and development activities. Identifies, cultivates, and solicits major donors, and maintains a strong individual donor program. Manages Grants and Contracts unit to ensure robust, high-quality proposal preparation and grants management to sustain funding for over 50% of organizational budget. Directly supervises communications unit, overseeing the strategic use of La Clínica’s public relations vehicles and media relations to further the organization’s interests.
Bachelors Degree. Five – seven years experience in donor relations, fund development, grant writing, and/or program development and budget development.
Three years’ experience supervising staff. Strong budgeting and editing skills. Detail oriented, flexible, with very strong interpersonal skills. Ability to meet deadlines under pressure. Two years prior work in Latino community and experience with public relations and media relations are preferred. Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing. Excellent oral and written skills. English and Spanish preferred. Ability/willingness to work weekends and some evenings. Knowledge of MS Office and Raiser’s Edge or other donor management database software.
