Isabel Van Isschot, Interpreter Services Department Director
Isabel Van Isschot has over 30 years of experience working in public health and language access, and has spent most of her career focused on social justice. Her experience with the Latino community began in Montreal, where she taught French as a second language to low-literacy Central American refugees. Ms. Van Isschot holds a Master of Sociology from the University of Toulouse-le Mirail in France and a Certificate in Literacy from the University of Québec à Montréal. She is fluent in Spanish, French, and English. As La Clínica del Pueblo’s Interpreter Services Department Director since 1996, Ms. Van Isschot oversees a team that provides thousands of interpretations and translations throughout the D.C. Metropolitan Area.
