Empodérate is the strategy of La Clínica del Pueblo to combat stigma and discrimination based on gender identity and/or sexual orientation.
Through Empodérate, La Clínica del Pueblo offers a variety of completely free services, among which you can find:
Navigation Services
Linkage to primary health care services, health care for people living with HIV, mental health, education, health insurance, PrEP, preparation for employment, among other services.
Individual Education
Education on sexual health, prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), PrEP, PEP, adherence to HIV treatment, substance use, healthy relationships, among others.
Rapid Testing
Rapid tests for HIV, Hepatitis C (HCV), Syphilis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Distribution of rapid HIV tests to be performed at home and individual support during the self-perform of the test.
Educational Groups and Workshops
Weekly educational groups for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. Annual training workshops for Community Health Promoters.
Support Groups
Support groups for people living with HIV. Safe spaces where people living with HIV learn from each other, share experiences, and enhance their support networks.
Events and Activities
Recreational and sporting events to encourage peer support and community outreach events to promote healthy sexual practices and normalize condom use and HIV testing.
